When one thinks of the North Georgia Mountains, visions of waterfalls, trout streams, rivers, lakes, vast expanses of wilderness, and stellar mountain views come to mind. Whispering Winds Mountain Retreat is located on 60 acres of pristine land.  We are surrounded on three sides by  Chattahooee National Forest, which is part of the Blue Ridge Mountains.  

Conveniently located 20 minutes West of Ellijay, GA, 
l 1/2 hours north of Atlanta, GA and 1 hour southeast Chattanooga, TN our retreat is easily accessible. Our guests will enjoy sweeping vistas of the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains and the Cohutta Wilderness. With each season in the North Georgia Mountains displaying its own beauty, the scenery is awe inspiring, and one will hear sounds that can’t be heard in their day to day lives. We invite you to come to a place where silence is golden, allowing one to hear themselves think, and where the air is always clean and clear.

Each of the two cabins at Whispering Winds is secluded and quiet, with each boasting a Hot Springs hot tub. The Mountain Lodge also features a sauna. The cabins are located on an active trout stream, and the soothing sounds from it can be heard from the decks of each of the cabins.

Nearby cities include Ellijay and Blue Ridge, GA. Also within a very short distance is Carter’s Lake, Lake Blue Ridge, the start of the Appalachian and Benton McKaye Trails, and Ft. Mountain and Amicalola Falls State Parks. Nearby activities include hiking, whitewater rafting, mountain biking, horseback riding, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing, to name only a few.
